Reverse Osmosis

Why Filter Your Water?
When you put a glass of water under the tap at home, you’re likely getting far more than just the hydration your body needs. Unfiltered tap water can contain fluoride, lead, pesticides, chlorine, chloramine, detergents, nitrates, and sulfates. All these additional ingredients can not only mess with your health, but it can also mess with your plumbing. At Murray Plumbing Services we know the importance of purified drinking water, which is why we offer Reverse Osmosis Filtration Installation as part of our services.

Why Reverse Osmosis?
A Reverse Osmosis Filtration System is an excellent alternative to water delivery services or buying bottled water. In fact, Reverse Osmosis Filtration Systems will filter out more impurities than most water filtration systems because of the semi-permeable membrane used to filter the water. Using a Reverse Osmosis Filtration System can provide 10 or more gallons of purified water every day, and is an effective way to improve your water quality without wasting water or electricity.

How it works:
Reverse Osmosis Filtration Systems works by using your water pressure to push tap water through a semi-permeable membrane, filtering out inorganic solids (like salts, lead, detergents, and more). Once the filter has separated chemicals and pollutants from your water, it flushes them out into a drain line. The remaining purified water feeds through to a storage tank or into the spout on your sink.

While a 10 GPR (gallon per day) Reverse Osmosis system might be sufficient for most households, a 50 GPR is the size commonly recommended. The 50 GPR doesn’t cost much more than a lower production system and will provide enough water even when temperatures drop in winter, as well as when the membrane slows at the end of its life (about 24 months).

If your water is unpleasant to drink, you have plumbing issues, or your appliances seem to break down early, it might be high time for a water filtration system. Low-quality or contaminated water can also pose a health risk to you and your family, causing stomach issues, dry skin, or eczema. At Murray Plumbing Services we believe that you deserve pure water, and we promise to install your Reverse Osmosis Filtration System quickly and efficiently. Give us a call today!
